This is a replica of Steven Juliano’s 1970 Barracuda with a Mod Top. If you want to know more about the famous story behind this car, just Google “Steven Juliano’s Mod Top ‘Cuda”. The mod top is an actual decal handed to me by a very good friend in the hobby. The decal itself is basically transparent with the floral designs printed on it so I had to paint the roof white first. I airbrused Tamiya White primer and then I hit it with just two coats of clear so that I may have a slippery surface to be able to handle the decal once in place. On my first try, I used decal solvent but it kinda softened the decal to the point where I broke it in several areas. On the second try, I avoided the solvent completely and just put it in place with water and that seemed to do the trick. I did not need to seal the decal afterwards. Of course I added the trim that separates the roof from the bottom part of the body using Evergreen plastic strips. The color is Factory Code F8 Ivy Green Metallic which is the one used on the real car. Both the color and 2K clear are from Splash Paints. The rolling stock is 3D printed resin from Mean Machine Models, they offer an excellent line of 3D printed wheels as well as files. The interior is painted with Tamiya paints.
