I started this build about 33 years ago when I was still learning to scratch build. My friend Eddie Contreras started to teach me and I showed him the Vette and said I want to scratch build this one! He told me I have to learn the basics and then do it later on when I have a few years under my belt. Almost bout the real Vette when it was on eBay for sale and I bid $140k and got outbid by 5k and 5 seconds on the clock and lost it! Recently Mike Cotton on instagram posted a picture I have never seen of it! For years I looked for anything related to the Vette and only two magazines I got and still have to this day! Mike put me in contact via email with Steve in 2024 and got to know Steve like a brother and he has helped me get the Vette dialed in perfectly to the original build. He came out the the Grand Nationals this year to see it in person along side with his a best friend Mike who helped him build it.

He signed a magazine the the ribbon it received of 3rd place but the memory Steve had of driving the real one was right in his hand as a true 1:1 Replica of there original design “Pro Low” in 1/16th scale. This build would have not been possible if it wasn’t for the help of Andres Dominique’s of Lay’nlowhobbies for the 3D printed wheels tires and steering wheel and the rims and steering wheel have “Pro Low” printed into them! Pual Mendoza who 3D printed the differential cover and Chris Lavender who machined the aluminum pulleys for the motors twin overhead cammed Chevy 355 block with 4 Webber carburetor set up. and this was the first of its kind electronic controlled distributor system as it was ahead of its time. RB Motions for all the nuts bolts spark plugs and wires and e few items from eBay and my own parts boxes. I can’t thank them all enough for making this dream of building it come true! Now on to the next 1:1 builds that are on my shop table top waiting there turn to come to life. Hope you all like what I have replicated and I will be coming to a few shows with it after I fix a few little loss ends on it. Santiago aka “Mr.1/16th”
